Terms of Service

TaxBack scans official public records for a property you tell us about, reports savings opportunities it can support with evidence, and — if you purchase a package — prepares the related filings for you to review, sign, and send. A subscription adds monitoring: we watch published deadlines, programs, and records for your address and notify you when something changes.

TaxBack is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Our services help prepare and file based on your report. You are always the one who reviews, signs, and submits your filings, and you may consult an attorney at any time.

Every dollar figure we show is an estimate built from official records and published program amounts. The county, your servicer, or the program administrator makes the final decision on every filing — we do not control outcomes and do not guarantee any savings, refund, approval, or timeline. Where records are incomplete, we say so rather than guess.

You confirm that the information you give us is accurate and that you are authorized to act for the property you submit. Filings we prepare rely on your answers and documents; reviewing them before you sign is your responsibility, and signing and sending is always your act, not ours. Use TaxBack only for properties you own or are authorized to represent.

Your report and dashboard live in an account tied to your email address. Keep your sign-in credentials to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account. You can ask us to close your account at any time at hello@taxbacknow.com.

The report is free. Filing preparation and monitoring are flat fees, shown before you pay and charged through Stripe — we never see your card number. Subscriptions renew until cancelled; you can cancel by replying to any notice or emailing us, and cancelling stops future renewals. Billing questions or problems with a purchase: hello@taxbacknow.com — we read everything.

The TaxBack site, reports, and software are ours; the documents and information you upload stay yours. You give us permission to use what you provide only to deliver the service to you. Public records remain public records.

No scraping, probing, reselling, or misrepresenting TaxBack; no submitting addresses or information you have no right to submit; no using the service to mislead a county, servicer, or program. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or other people.

To the fullest extent the law allows, TaxBack's total liability for any claim arising out of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages — including outcomes decided by a county, servicer, or program administrator. Nothing here limits liability the law does not allow us to limit.

These terms are governed by Illinois law. If something goes wrong, contact us first at hello@taxbacknow.com — most problems are fixable by humans talking. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally belongs to the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois.

If these terms change materially, we will update the date below. Continuing to use TaxBack after a change means you accept the updated terms.
